Misha, an esteemed figure skater hailing from the Native Village of Eyak (Igya’aq), is an Alaskan Native of the Chugach Aleut tribe (dAXunhyuu). With a remarkable career spanning over 15 years as a professional figure skater and 14 years as a coach, Misha has made significant contributions to the world of figure skating and is a proud member of the Professional Skaters Association (PSA).

Misha’s unique background as a traditional Alutiiq dancer has allowed for the infusion of cultural richness and artistic flair into performances, setting Misha apart as the first known “Alaskan Native Professional Figure Skater.” Through experiences performing with prestigious companies such as Disney On Ice, Holiday On Ice, and collaborating with Olympic champion Robin Cousins, Misha has garnered widespread recognition and respect within the United States Figure Skating community. Additionally, Misha has had extensive training as a former competitive skater in Japan under Olympic coaches such as Utako Nagamitsu sense, Daisuke Takahashi, and Takeshi Honda.

As a coach, Misha’s expertise extends to skaters of all ages and levels, with a focus on choreography, jump technique, basic skills, off-ice training, and more. Dedication to nurturing the talents of aspiring skaters has been evident in work with competitors at regional, sectional, national, and international ISU level competitions, including Special Olympians.

As the Founder and Director of Tribe Ice, a certified coach and choreographer for U.S. Figure Skating and ISI, and an accomplished performer and choreographer for Rand Productions, Misha’s versatility and expertise in various aspects of figure skating are truly impressive. Commitment to excellence and passion for the sport continue to inspire and uplift those around Misha.
